Yesterday we interviewed a guy for a fairly senior position and he left his cell phone on during our conversation and even checked the screen when it would ring. No "Oh, I do apologize, my wife is 10 months pregnant/my child is in a diabetic coma/my home was in flames when I left and I'm waiting for a call from the fire department." Nope, apparently here it's just cool to leave your phone turned on in a job interview. But the real burning question in my mind is the following: Does he enjoy ping pong and watching TV? Because in that case he is totally hired.
